Last week’s Outdoor Retailer Show was quite memorable for the Cliques team. It involved great conversations with countless people, and also one with an adtech-savvy llama who asked us a couple of questions. Here are some snippets:
Q: So, what do you do?
A: Cliques connects publishers and advertisers in the outdoor industry to make advertising successful and lucrative.
Q: Does it work?
A: Yes! At least we think it does…
Q: And what’s your stance on viewability? Do you agree with the IAB measurement standards?
A: Yeah, so, regulation is definitely important, and if an advertiser is paying for an ad to be published, it should definitely be seen… Our tech guy would be happy to talk to you more about that!
Q: Can you tell me more about your proprietary, distributed event streaming system using Redis & Google BigQuery?
A: Ehm… yes… we use a proprietary new system called Bottom Up Bidding, which is unique to Cliques and makes online advertising a win-win for both publishers and advertisers!
Q: I know you guys use Node.js: what are your thoughts on the Node.js vs. IO.js split?
A: Excuse me?
