Designing Your Creative

As complex as the technology behind digital advertising is, it all comes down to this: do you have a good ad? Here are a few tips and pointers to make sure you’re on your way to designing a great creative.

  1. Lots of white space.

Most impression spaces are compact. Make sure a consumer’s eye will be drawn to what you want them to see: your logo, perhaps an image, maybe some brief text. When in doubt, take it out.

  1. Keep it simple.

Again, you’re working with a small space. The simpler your creative, the more attractive it will be.

  1. Make your message clear.

Will clicking on your ad take a reader to a “shop now” page? Or perhaps to the item page for your newest bag? Be straightforward and let the reader know what to expect when they click on your ad.

  1. Show off your logo.

It’s awesome and it represents you. Let it do the talking.

  1. Would you click on it?

It’s a simple question, but would you? If the answer is no, why?
